Saskatoon Workshops with Shigong Painter are held once or twice per year. This is an absolutely incredible training event! The head of the Li family’s Dao Qi Quan arts and Jiulong Baguazhang will come to your doorstep. If you are serious about improving yourself, you will not miss this!

Special topic Course - MAY 2017
This course is only open to students enrolled in: Kung Fu Basics, Jiulong Baguazhang, Ziran Xinyiquan, Tibetan Coiling Serpent Boxing or Combat Jian.

Surviving Close Encounters with the Razor's Edge

 

In the month of May, a special course will be held Mondays and Fridays at 8:30 – 9:40 pm. This course will cover unarmed and situational options against big knives, small knives, and tiny knives (machetes, dragon claws, Bowies and fixed blades, folding knives, and karambits and punch-daggers).

 

Prerequisites

This course is only available to students concurrently enrolled in any of the following OKF Martial Courses: Kung Fu Basics, Jiulong Baguazhang, Tibetan Coiling Serpent Boxing, Ziran Xingyiquan, Combat Jian – No Exceptions. Limited space.

Mondays & Fridays 8:30-9:40 PM

Exception: No class 22 May 2017 - Victoria Day Holiday

 

Uniform

School T-shirts, traditional, black Hanzifu (“Kung-Fu” uniforms), indoor shoes, and safety glasses are required.

 

Curriculum

The goal of the class is to introduce the student to the extreme dangers inherent in edged weapon engagements. The student will be introduced to a variety of awareness skills, mind-training, and movement drills designed to give practical application to several key Daoqiquan principles including: RYG; Too Close Too Far; NCCD; 3:1 Rule; Turning the Corner; Closing the Door; Gates and Centerline.
